Financial Adviser
About Matthew - Having qualified as an adviser in 2001, Matthew has historically worked in a variety of roles, both employed and self-employed, as well as tied and independent. He joined Capel Court in November 2007 as an adviser and was promoted to Financial Planning Director in 2020. In addition to advising clients, he has also trained others to become advisers.
The main focus of Matthew's role is in managing a well-established bank of financial planning clients who have been the cornerstone of Capel Court over the years. As Capel Court has also historically operated as a Discretionary Fund Manager (DFM), these clients will additionally be introduced to the Clifton and EPIM range of services moving forward.
Outside of work - Matthew is happily married to his wife, Lisa, and is a stepdad to Saffron and Ruby. In addition, he is fortunate to have teenage twins, Ronan and Tallulah, who both enjoy football as much as he did when he played (having 'retired' at 39 due to a knackered knee). As a result, much of his spare time is spent taking them to training sessions and games for the teams and academies they are part of.
Matthew also tries to keep on top of various jobs at home and in the garden, and can often be found doing outdoor work at the weekend, especially during spring and summer. Otherwise, he enjoys all sports, both playing and watching, and is a lifelong Norwich City fan for his sins (it is where he is originally from).
